Ponta Negra is Natal’s most famous beach
Ponta Negra beach, located in the south of Natal, is one of the most visited destinations in Rio Grande do Norte. Morro do Careca, an imposing dune that marks the landscape to the south, is its main postcard and a point of reference for tourists. About 4 km long, Ponta Negra offers the perfect setting for both relaxing walks in the evening and peaceful family outings.
In addition to its natural beauty, the beach is surrounded by a bustling urban life. Walking north, visitors will find the famous Av. Erivan França, full of bars, restaurants and craft stores. At night, the area comes alive with a bustling nightlife scene, where the traditional forró pé de serra mixes with the relaxed atmosphere of the bars, delighting tourists and locals alike.
